The Intro to Cave Diving class is the next step after the Cavern Diver certification in the four part training process to becoming a Full Cave Diver. While being a cavern diver you were limited to areas where surface light was always visible. In the Intro to Cave course that limitation is lifted. Instead you will be limited by the gas you are diving with.
In this class we will expand on your cavern training. You will demonstrate lights out drills, air sharing drills, and lights out drills combined with air sharing drills. You will learn how to find a lost buddy. We will learn how to locate the line if it becomes lost. This and many other techniques will be repeated until they become second nature. You will also learn the limitations of this level of certification.
At this stage in the process your gear configuration will certainly divert away from a recreational rig. For example, independent regulators are a must and double tanks are encouraged. Among other things, you must have at least three lights and you must have a primary reel and a safety reel. For a comprehensive list of gear requirements you can click here.
